Five Things, July 30: Mr. North, Farmers' Market and More
Today is Tuesday, July 30, 2013 and here are five things to know about the week ahead.

Classic Car Cruise Night: Tonight beginning at 5 p.m. until dusk, the Village at South County Commons (South County Commons Way, Route 1, SK), will host a free Classic Car Cruise Night, complete with a DJ, food, beverages and a 50/50 raffle! Restaurants and shops in the Commons will be open throughout the event, also.
Narragansett Tax Bills: As a reminder, first quarter Real Estate, Motor Vehicle, and Tangible tax bills are due no later than tomorrow, July 31, 2013. Also, the yearly 2013 Sewer Assessment bills are also due no later than July 31. For more information, contact the Narragansett Tax Collectors Office at (401) 782.0628.
Botanical Garden Tour:Â From 5-6 p.m. this evening and every Tuesday through September, a guided tour of the URI Botanical Gardens and Horridge Conservatory will be offered by the University. Take a stroll through the garden with Head Gardener Gabrielle Torphy and Brian Maynard, Professor of Horticulture. Participants will meet at 5 p.m. at the Outreach Center Gazebo (3 East Alumni Ave., Kingston). Suggested donation is $5, children under 14 are free.

Free Movie - Mr. North: Today from 2-4 p.m. and again from 6-8 p.m., the Maury Loontjens Memorial Library (35 Kingstown Rd., Narragansett) will host a free showing of the 1988 film, Mr. North, which was filmed right here in RI. The movie tells the story of Mr. North, a stranger to a Newport, who quickly has rumors started about him claiming that he has the power to heal people's ailments. The rumors are magnified by his tendency to collect negative charges and give shocks to anyone he touches. In his adventures he befriends an old man who is a shut-in and helps him rediscover the world. (Starring Anjelica Houston, Robert Mitchum, Lauren Bacall and Anthony Edwards.)
