Five Things, June 28: Beach Wrestling, Water Ban and More

Good Morning! Here are five things you should know about for Friday, June 28, 2013.

Brand Spanking New: Welcome to the new Narragansett-South Kingstown Patch! We hope you like our makeover! As you peruse the site, take a look at the improvements that have been made to features like the blogging platform and navigation tabs - all designed to streamline your Patch experience. Also, be sure to check out the new "Boards" feature where you can post announcements, events and classifieds, as well as start your own conversation with fellow  Narragansett or SK residents! As always, feel free to send any news tips or suggestions to lauren.costa@patch.com.

Outdoor Water Restrictions: Effective immediately, the Town of South Kingstown is imposing an outdoor water use ban on alternate odd and even days for their South Shore and Middlebridge water customers. Residents with an odd number street address may water only on odd number days, while customers with an even number street address may water only on even number days. This water restriction is being enacted to ensure sufficient supply during heavy summertime consumer demand.

URI Pawsox Night: Join fellow URI alumni and friends on Friday, Aug. 16 for an evening of minor league baseball and an all-you-can-ear barbecue at McCoy Stadium. Tickets for the all inclusive evening are 50% cheaper than normal: only $15 each for adults and $7 for children 3-12. Children 2 and under get in free. Deadline to register for the event is Aug. 9.Click here to visit the complete event page and to register.

Explore Entrepreneurship: Is starting your own business right for you? To find out, attend the Southern RI Chamber of Commerce workshop on Friday, June 28 from 8-9:30 a.m. at the Chamber (230 Old Tower Hill Rd., Wakefield). As part of the free workshop, guests can explore the process of starting a business, discuss ideas and needs with a program manager, get an overview of various resources that are available to you, and much more! Click here for everything you need to know.
