Flash Flood Warning in Effect

The National Weather Service is warning Rhode Islanders of the potential for flash floods thanks to rain and thunderstorms moving through Southern New England today and tonight.

According to NWS, local rainfall total could top 2 inches depending on how the weather pattern develops. The rain will continue into Friday.

The heavy rain will lead to localized flooding and the usual flood-prone spots could see flooding. In Coventry, that means Sandy Bottom Road, portions of Main Street and the intersection of Tiogue Avenue and Hopkins Hill Road to name a few.
