PROVIDENCE, RI — Anna LaCroix, in 8th grade at Chariho Middle School, was sworn in Thursday as 'Governor For A Day.' The ceremony was held in the State Room at the Statehouse. Then Anna spent the day with Gov. Gina Raimondo.
Every year since she was elected, the governor has held an essay contest for 'Governor For A Day.' The contest asks schoolgirls what they would do as governor. Anna wrote about "sexual assault prevention, equal pay for women, and the need for gun control," Raimondo's office said. Click here to read her essay.
