Grant Funds New Fence at Frosty Drew Observatory

The Frosty Drew Nature Center and Observatory, located at 61 Park Lane in Charlestown, was awarded a grant earlier this year from the Champlin Foundations to replace the disintegrating cedar picket fence surrounding the observatory.  

The fence replacement has been completed enhancing the safety and environment of the Frosty Drew observatory grounds. A main goal of the Champlin Foundations is “to fund tax exempt organizations within Rhode Island that will have the greatest impact on the broadest possible segment of the population.”

The Frosty Drew Board of Directors would like to thank The Champlin Foundations. In addition, the Board would like to acknowledge the Frosty Drew volunteers who work tirelessly to make nature education accessible to all ages year round from the salt ponds to the stars through programs and fundraising events.
