Joseph G. Wyllie, 80, of Narragansett, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Rosemarie "Ree" (Carvalho) Wyllie. Born in Central Falls, he was a son of the late James and Margaret (Goudie) Wyllie.
Mr. Wyllie was a US Army Veteran serving in Europe during the Korean War, before becoming a salesman for food brokers in Massachusetts before retiring. After his retirement he enjoyed working for Hertz.
Joseph loved playing cards and was a member of the Pegging Polecats Cribbage Club, as well as a former member of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick in Cumberland. He enjoyed spending winters in Florida, gardening, flea markets and visiting friends.
Besides his wife he leaves his devoted children, Keri-Ann McAlice (Michael), Deborah Anderson (Stephen), Dr. Joseph Wyllie (Mary Beth) and Christopher Wyllie (Kristen Coates); his sister Grace Greene (Smith); his cherished grandchildren, Meghan, Erin and Kelly McAlice, Paige and Leigha Anderson, Ian, Ethan, Emma, Asa and Sam Wyllie; and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Margaret Partington, Mary, James, John, Richard and William Wyllie.
Joseph's funeral service was held Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at the Fagan-Quinn Funeral Home in North Kingstown, followed by a burial with Military Honors at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter.
