Missing RI Woman Found Dead Close to Home

Alicia Storti, 21, went missing last week. Her body was discovered Thursday night.

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI—The search for missing 21-year-old Alicia Storti has ended in tragedy.

Police said that Storti was found dead in a wooded area near her home.

Storti's body has been turned over to the state Medical Examiner to determine a cause of death.

Police said foul play is not suspected and the investigation is ongoing.

"The South Kingstown Police Department would like to thank all of the municipal agencies and volunteers who assisted in the investigation and subsequent searches," said South Kingstown Police Det. Lt. Alfred E. Bucco III.

Police began looking for Storti after she left her house at around midnight last Thursday.

Family members, friends and police searched for Storti in wooded and remote areas across the state for days since her disappearance, holding out hope that she would be found OK.

The family is expected to release a statement later today.
