Narragansett Police Log: August 30, 2012

South Kingstown Man Arrested on Warrant

Andrew J. Gianfrancesco, 21, of 619 Camp Fuller Road, South Kingstown, was arrested at about 12:20 a.m. on Aug. 30. Police said a Fourth Division District Court warrant was out for his arrest for failing to appear at a hearing related to a suspended license arrest.

According to police, an officer noted a car parked by the side of Charlie O’s, not in a spot. The officer left the area, and when he returned five minutes later, the car was still in the same location.

As a result, the officer asked the driver – Gianfrancesco – for his license. He didn’t have his license, and a background check revealed that a warrant was out for his arrest.

Police said Gianfrancesco was arrested without incident, and held at police headquarters for arraignment at Fourth Division District Court at 9 a.m.

Warwick Man Arrested on Warrant

Michael D. Beauchamp, 45, of 27 Faxon St., West Warwick, was arrested at about 8:17 a.m. Police said a Third Division District Court warrant was out for his arrest for failing to appear at a Family Court hearing.

According to police, an officer monitoring traffic on Boston Neck Road heard a vehicle with a loud exhaust pass by his post. A traffic stop was made at the car turned on to Old Boston Neck Road.

Police said a background check revealed a warrant out for the driver, Beauchamp. He was arrested without incident. A co-worker drove the car from the scene.

Cock-a-doodle-doo!

At about 6 a.m., police received a report of roosters loudly crowing since about 3:30 a.m. on Meadowrue Trail.

Police said that when they drove to Meadowrue Trail, they immediately were able to identify the home because of the roosters. The homeowner, a 46-year-old Narragansett woman, told police she was trying to sell the roosters and apologized for the noise.

No arrests were made. The case was forwarded to the department’s animal control officer for review.
