In March, a man on Jakes Way said that Pisaturo was helping another man he had hired to paint and wallpaper his house. However, one night Pisaturo came by with a woman and asked if he could show her work he had done on the second floor.

The man told police that he was suspicious, but let Pisaturo show the woman. When Pisaturo left, the man said he checked his records and thought some of his checks might be missing.

Several days later, the man checked his bank account, and said that a check he didn't write had been cashed for $475 at a Providence bank. Bank of America confirmed that the signature on the check did not match the man's signature card.

Police did a background check on Pisaturo and found he had a warrant out for his arrest and 24 other criminal charges in the past.

Police talked to the painter that had temporarily employed Pisaturo in the Narragansett man's home. The painter said that Pisaturo was homeless and had been staying at the painter's apartment. The painter said he left about a month ago, and when Narragansett police called him, he knew why.

On Sunday, officials at the ACI notified Narragansett police that Pisaturo was in their custody. He was transported to police headquarters, arrested and held overnight before being arraigned in Fourth Division District Court Monday.
