South Kingstown resident arrested for five bad checks in 2007.

Woman Arrested For Bad Checks
Jessica A. Stanzione, 29, of 105 Church St., South Kingstown, was arrested about 12:35 a.m. on five misdemeanor charges of issuing a fraudulent check.

According to Narragansett police, they received a call from South Kingstown police shortly after midnight reporting they had picked up Stanzione on a warrant for charges in their town. A background check revealed the Narragansett charges and Stanzione was transported from South Kingstown to Narragansett for booking.
The checks bounced when the Pier Market Place attempted to cash them in June 2007. The five checks totaled $345.82.

Golfer Arrested For Assaulting Two Visitors
David G. Stephens, 48, of 49 Sassafras Trail, Narragansett, was arrested about 10:10 p.m. on two charges of simple assault and a third charge of disorderly conduct.
Police responded to Stephens’ home after a 911 hang-up. According to witnesses, Stephens struck a 43-year-old woman and a 44-year-old man after they asked him to calm down and stop swearing at a family member, police said. Witnesses said Stephens had been out playing golf and drinking since noon.
Stephens was arrested without incident. He was held overnight and arraigned 9 a.m. on Oct. 27.
Person Cited for Suspended License
A 23-year-old North Smithfield resident was cited about 8:40 p.m. for driving with a suspended license.
According to police, an officer clocked the person’s black 2005 Ford Mustang going 65 m.p.h. in a 45 m.p.h. zone on Point Judith Road. A background check revealed the suspended license, according to reports. A friend drove the car from the scene and the person was issued a Fourth Division District Court summons for Nov. 9.
