Today's top story

Despite making up a minority of the state's population, the vast majority of coronavirus cases and hospitalizations are among unvaccinated people, according to the latest data from the Rhode Island Department of Health. Over the past month, more than three-quarters of the people hospitalized with the virus in Rhode Island did not get vaccinated.

A Rhode Island resident ran the Boston Marathon Monday in honor of Aidan Freeman, a 7-year-old boy who died from the rare genetic condition Rett Syndrome in March. Maurice Lowman's run raised $7,152, which will be matched by his employer.

As if running 26.2 miles wasn't hard enough, Lowman ran the entire marathon dressed for success, in a full suit.
