Previous Drought Shutters RI Christmas Tree Farm For 2021 Season
Although there was plenty of rain this season, the past two dry summers meant little growth and not enough supply for this year.

WAKEFIELD, RI — A South County Christmas tree farm was forced to close its doors for the fast-approaching 2021 holiday season, citing poor growth from too many consecutive dry summers.
On Thursday, Bedrock Tree Farm announced that they will not sell any Christmas trees this year, to allow the trees some time "to catch up."
While this summer had plenty of rain, the past two summers — 2019 and 2020 — had pretty serious drought conditions. That caused little growth in the growing trees, which combined with the number of trees cut and sold in recent years means there aren't enough mature trees to cut and sell this year.

Not opening this season will allow the trees more time to grow for the 2022 season.
The farm will continue to sell their fir needle products online, with free shipping using the coupon code "shipped" or local pickup. Their products are also available in many stores throughout the region.
