Rhode Island: Ozone Alert For Friday
The state Department of Environmental Management says the ozone levels will be unhealthy Friday.

NARRAGANSETT, RI—Ozone levels on Friday will be unhealthy, the state Department of Environmental Management says. So DEM is issuing an air quality alert. The alert is statewide. The reason is due to sunshine and "west southwest wind flows," the state said. The unhealthy levels are expected during late afternoon and into the evening.
According to the state health department, moderate to high ozone levels can cause respiratory problems. Children, the elderly and people with respiratory diseases are especially at risk.
