RI DMV: Licenses Can't Be Processed Due To Computer Glitch
Computer problems at the registry of motor vehicle are inconveniencing people who need a driver's license.

CRANSTON, RI—People who need a driver's license will have to wait indefinitely. Rhode Island's Registry of Motor Vehicles said the computers at the national clearinghouse are down. The reason, according to the American Association of Motor Vehicles, is due to a problem with the state registry's connection to Verizon. Other transactions are not affected. There is no estimate for the time when service will be restored. Click here for the official notice.
