RI Weather Forecast: Rain, Thunder For Marathon Monday: NWS

NARRAGANSETT, RI — The mudders should have the edge in the Boston Marathon. Rain, sometimes heavy, is forecast for Monday, the National Weather Service says. There's even a chance of thunderstorms, but the temperature should be around 54. It won't help that rain and sleet is forecast for Sunday in Boston. The run of wild weather with temperature swings, gusty wind and even winter conditions for some of the area ends Tuesday with sunshine.

A slight chance of light rain before 10pm, then areas of drizzle between 10pm and 4am, then areas of drizzle with a chance of rain after 4am. Cloudy, with a low around 35. Northeast wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Sunday
Rain likely, mainly after 7am. Cloudy, with a high near 38. Northeast wind around 18 mph, with gusts as high as 36 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
