SK Man Pleads in Heroin Possession Case

William Huntley, 25, is ordered to serve probation after selling heroin to an undercover officer and an informant.

William Huntley, 25, of 369 High St., Apt. #B, South Kingstown, pleaded no contest on July 30 to a North Kingstown police felony charge of possession of heroin, which was modified from distribution of heroin in return for his plea.

Huntley was ordered to serve 18 months probation, to complete substance abuse counseling and to pay $788 in assessments.

According to North Kingstown police reports included in court files, police conducted a controlled buy of $140 of heroin from Huntley in May 2012.

The transaction was allegedly recovered, and done with an undercover officer and an informant both witnessing. Police said 1.08 grams of heroin were confiscated from Huntley, along with $1,690. The cash was forfeited to the state after no one claimed it after public advertisements.

According to online records, Huntley has two previous minor arrests.

In February 2010, a South Kingstown police charge of driving with a suspended license against Huntley was dismissed. The case was transferred to the Rhode Island Traffic Tribunal.

In May 2007, Huntley pleaded no contest to a Narragansett police charge of driving with a suspended license. He paid a fine, and the charge was dismissed.
