Sex Toy, More Than 200 Pornographic DVDs Found Following Car Accident
At about 11 p.m. on Sept. 30, police received a report of a Mazda in a ditch near Leisure Drive and Sand Plains Trail.
Police said that when they approached the car, they noted it was stuck on an embankment in the woods, empty. An officer found the car’s registered owner and three others walking east on Tuckertown Road.
According to police, the car’s owner – a 38-year-old South Kingstown man – appeared to be intoxicated. As a result, the car was searched.
Police said an inventory of the car revealed a glass smoking pipe in plain view on the floor, along with a plastic bag. Police said inside the bag was a dildo, three pornographic DVDs, three pairs of women’s underwear and a TomTom GPS unit. A pink iPod was found in the glove box.
According to police, a search of the trunk revealed more than 200 pornographic DVDs and VHS tapes, many still with the price tags on them, and a Kodak Easy Share digital camera.
Based on the suspicious nature of the incident, all of the items were seized. Police said a check of the serial numbers for the TomTom and iPod didn’t reveal any hits, and the items didn’t match any descriptions for open larceny cases. The incident remains under investigation.
