Storm Knocks Out Power: Charlestown, Warren and Isolated Areas
Some 174 households lost electricity Tuesday as thunderstorms barreled through the area.

NARRAGANSETT, RI -- Some 174 households lost electricity Tuesday as thunderstorms barreled through the area. A lightning strike was blamed for a barn fire around 7 p.m. on the University of Rhode Island's Alton Jones campus in West Greenwich. National Grid reported 60 Charlestown households were off the grid, 55 in Warren, and five or fewer in Jamestown. Foster, Glocester and North Smithfield had a few outages, as well.
