Town Of South Kingstown: Old Mountain Field Master Plan Meeting Approaching

The public is invited to attend the third public presentation of the Old Mountain Field master plan with discussion on accessibility. It is scheduled for Monday, September 16, 2024 at 6pm at the Neighborhood Guild, 325 Columbia Street, Peace Dale. Town staff, representatives of Beta Group Inc. and the South Kingstown Recreation Commission, welcome feedback on the Plan.

The first public work session was held on April 13th, 2023 and the second session was held on August 28, 2023. The Town's consultant, Beta Group, took input from members of the community, as well as representatives of stakeholder groups, and developed the initial conceptual plan. Since that time, Beta Group has worked with Town staff to refine the concept and produce a four phase master plan that is intended to guide short and long-term development of Old Mountain Field as a community park.

As the FY2024-2025 Parks and Recreation Department capital improvement plan recommends moving forward with Phase I construction, (providing full funding is secured and authorized by Town Council), the public is encouraged to continue its participation in the process to ensure that the park will meet the needs of our community well into the future, while maintaining its historical and cultural significance in South Kingstown.
