The beaches were closed for swimming Wednesday over their bacteria levels in the water.

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI — Two Rhode Island beaches reopened for swimming Friday, following closures due to high bacteria levels, officials with the Rhode Island Department of Health said.
State health officials said bacteria levels returned to safe levels at Spouting Rock Beach Association in Newport and Camp Fuller YMCA in South Kingstown. The beaches were closed for swimming Wednesday over their bacteria levels in the water.
RIDOH officials said they will continue to monitor and review beach water quality regularly to ensure safe bathing throughout summer.
