City Hall Closes Early Friday After Boiler Issues

NEWPORT, RI—Heating issues at Newport City Hall has closed the building early on Friday.

City Hall was closed at 11 a.m. after problems with a boiler, city officials said in a news release.

The building will be back open on Monday morning at 8:30 a.m.

The building is currently under some construction. A new elevator and accessibility improvements are being installed, among other projects.

City Manager Joseph Nicholson apologized for any inconvenience.
