Dolphins Swim in Providence River
Maybe it heard about the excellent food scene in Providence? Will Newport be next?

Two dolphins were seen swimming about in the Providence River on Friday.
The dolphins, which were seen in downtown Providence, caused a stir on social media Friday afternoon after the creatures appeared.
While it’s not very common, the sight of dolphins swimming in the Providence River is not unprecedented. Similar sightings were reported in the river in 2011 and other areas across Narragansett Bay.

This most recent sighting follows the remarkable appearance of Beluga whales that appeared in local waters this spring. A trio hung out in Narragansett Bay for several days,
Providence Police shared a photo of the dolphin along with scores of others who shared pictures on Facebook and Twitter, including the video below by Holly Coutu.
