Ex-Roommate Charged With Credit Card Fraud: Newport Police

NEWPORT, RI—Amber Sutphin, 33, of Newport, surrendered at Second District Courthouse on Oct. 31, at 8:50 a.m. Sutphin is charged with fraudulent use 0f credit cards, a felony. The victim reported the alleged crime on Aug. 18. Police obtained an arrest warrant.

According to the arrest report, Sutphin rang up $198.23 on a former roommate's credit card. The charges were made between April 21 and Aug. 14. They were for cell phone bills and food purchased at local restaurants.
