The St. Patrick's Day Parade revelries reportedly prompted a woman to snatch a fire lieutenant's dress hat. He wants it back.
NEWPORT, RI — A Fall River, Mass., fire lieutenant wants his hat back. No questions asked. Newport police said the hat was taken at West Deck after the parade. It has sentimental value.
This is the second time in a week a personal item belonging to a member of a police and fire department was snatched. Cranston police allege a Pascoag man stole a motorcycle officer's sunglasses from a funeral home when the officer was working an escort detail. He was charged.
