Hot Weekend Kicks Off Three-Day Heat Wave To Come: RI Weather

NEWPORT, RI — This weekend is kicking off another heat wave in Rhode Island. Starting on Sunday, Rhode Island could see record high heat levels during the forecasted three-day heat wave.
Saturday will stay moderate and comfortable, with temperatures hitting a high of 82 degrees during the day and 69 degrees at night. Enjoy being outside while you can because on Sunday temperatures jump to a high of 87 degrees.
Forecasters think the heat wave will run from Sunday through Tuesday with near record heat each day and triple digit highs possible on Monday. Even the lows could be record-setting, with Monday's forecast showing lows of only 75 to 80 degrees.

Forecasters are reminding people to stay hydrated and have access to a cool space to beat the heat if needed. To avoid heat exhaustion, limit strenuous outdoor activities.
