Jamestown Officer Killed By Drunk Driver, Remembered In Video

The state Department of Transportation has released a new video, The Ripple Effect, about the impact of drunk driving deaths.

JAMESTOWN, RI — Officer Ryan Bourque died on his way home from work in 2016. He was killed by a wrong way driver, who was driving drunk. One of his last assignments was at the Lawn Avenue School where the community was presenting Island Treasures, a day for the children to see how people in Jamestown earn a living. The Town is dedicating a playground in his memory.

Ofc. Bourque's story is featured in a new video about the far-reaching impact of drunk driving. Coventry police posted it because he was a Coventry native.
