This Year: The 2013 Newport Public Education Foundation Mother’s Day Weekend 5K Run For Education is dedicated to the memory of Sandra Clooney. Sandra Clooney was an active member of the Newport community, particularly in the Fifth (5th) Ward where she and her husband Robert raised three sons, Brian, Michael and Jeffrey. Sandra was very active in school, sports, and community activities, making herself available as both a leader and worker as needed. Her personality drew people to her and she seemed to know and be a friend to everyone. Her strength and character, however, set her apart from others. Her strong will and positive attitude were an example to all around her. She chose to look at things positively, and was never one to complain. Those who knew her will always remember her lust for life and gain strength from having been touched by her.
