Newport Columbus Day Parade Monday
The parade starts at noon, and Broadway will be closed from Gould to Farewell, police said.

NEWPORT, RI— The Columbus Day Parade steps off Monday, Oct. 9 at noon in front of St. Joseph's Church on Broadway. Beginning at 10 a.m. Broadway will be closed to traffic between Gould and Farewell streets and will re-open at approximately 1 p.m. The detour will send cars over to Dr. Marcus Wheatland Boulevard between Gould and Marlborough streets.
There will also be “No Parking” on Broadway between Gould and Farewell beginning at 10 a.m.
The parade route will travel south on Broadway, to Washington Square; south on Thames, south on Americas Cup Avenue (in the northbound lanes), and east on Memorial Boulevard to the intersection of Memorial and Bellevue Avenue.

Motorists can expect delays and short temporary traffic stops along the parade route, police said.
