Newport Corrects Times For Teacher-Parent Conferences

NEWPORT, RI — The school district says the teacher union took an ad that listed incorrect times for the parent teacher conferences. The correct times and locations are as follows:

Tuesday, March 13, 2018 Rogers High School Conferences 1:00 – 6:00 p.m.

Wednesday, March 14, 2018 Pell Elementary School Conferences 1:00 – 6:00 p.m.

Thursday, March 15, 2018 Thompson Middle School Conferences 1:00 – 6:00 p.m.

The district went on to say the time of 1 to 6 p.m. was chosen to be convenient for parents. The teachers are required to report to work at noon on conference days, and the school buildings will open at 12:30 p.m.

Per the school district, here are the steps parents should follow:

Conference sign up forms are posted on all schools’ websites, as well as the main Newport Public Schools website, as well as being available through the resource folder of the One Newport app. If you have not received a conference time, please email your child’s teacher or his or her principal for assistance. This will be a no school day for students.
