Newport Courthouse Slip: Defendent Arrested Again
A defendant in a domestic case allegedly violated a no contact order when he started talking outside the courthouse to his alleged victim.

NEWPORT, RI—Kevin Thornton, 56, of Newport, went to the courthouse on Wednesday for a trial. He was there as the defendant in a domestic Assault or Battery case, police said. But before the case was heard, he was arrested again. This time, the charge was violating a no contact order. A witness saw talking to the victim outside the courthouse, police allege. He was arrested on the new charge at 12:10 p.m.
