Newport: Fire Put Out At 50 Kingston Avenue Sunday

NEWPORT, RI — Crews responded to a fire at 50 Kingston Ave. on Sunday night. According to Capt. Michael Eyre, no people or pets were injured. The first call for help came at 9:34 p.m., and the fire was under control at 10:18 p.m. The cause is still under investigation. The fire was contained to the basement, he said. Some smoke and water damaged also occurred on the first floor, and there was minor smoke damage on the second floor.
