16-Year-Old Girl Charged with Child Porn in Cyberstalking Case

Police said a 16-year-old girl posted nude photos of a 14-year-old girl on Facebook and sent the photos to other local children.

A 16-year-old Newport girl has been arrested for cyberstalking and child pornography for allegedly bullying a 14-year-old girl by distributing and posting nude photos of the victim on Facebook.

Newport police said the 16-year-old was arrested Monday morning and was due to be arraigned in Family Court later today.

According to a police report, the investigation began after police got a report of the nude photos on Oct. 23.

During the month-long investigation, police found nude photos of the victim on the suspect’s cell phone. She allegedly had taken and distributed nude photos of herself as well. As a result, Newport police charged her with two counts of child porn possession.

The cyberstalking charge stems from the bullying. According to the police report, the 16-year-old created a fake Facebook account in the name of the victim and posted the nude photos there.

Police said the investigation revealed that the suspect was angry over relationship issues.

Police said that the suspect, along with creating the fake Facebook account, sent the nude photos of herself and the victim to “other young children.”

The matter will be adjudicated in Family Court.
