Newport Man Bounced From Boys & Girls Club: Police
A local man was arrested after an altercation that started at a bus stop when he asked two teens for the time.

NEWPORT, RI—Police arrested Kevin Warren, 44, of Newport, on Tuesday at 3:50 p.m. outside the Boys and Girls Club. Two youngsters reported a "white man came into the gym" looking for them. The boys said the man called them "racist names," according to the police narrative. An official at the club threw the man out and called officers. Warren was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Simple Assault or Battery.
The boys told police they ran into Warren at the bus stop where he asked them for the time. He didn't appreciate the way they answered him, they said, and he followed them into the Boys and Girls Club.
