Newport Police: DUI, Strangulations,
The following arrests were reported by the Newport Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

- Myra Loman, 46, 17 Pond Ave. Apt #A, Newport was arrested Friday at 2:28 a.m. for driving under the influence, driving with an expired license and refusal to submit to a chemical test. She was allegedly stopped because she was speeding on Bellevue Avenue.
- Kelvin Gilliam, 54, of 160 Broad St. Providence, was arrested Thursday at 9:20 p.m. for domestic assault by strangulation, a felony, third offense domestic protective orders, a felony and larceny from building under $1500, a misdemeanor. He allegedly attempted to strangle a 57-year-old woman in her apartment.
- Lazaro Shemeley, 32, of 15 Park Holm, was arrested Thursday around 9:40 p.m. on domestic vandalism injury to property and domestic disorderly conduct. He allegedly punched holes in the hallway that belonged to a 35-year-old Newport woman.
- Michael Croce, 54, of 18 Edgar Ct. Apt #B, Newport was arrested Thursday around 3:10 a.m. for domestic assault by strangulation, a felony and domestic simple assault, a misdemeanor. He allegedly assaulted a 53-year-old Newport woman.
