Newport Police Log: Dec. 7-8

NEWPORT, RI — Here are recent arrests and citations. Information comes from the police log.

Dec. 7

Troy Cepeda Torres, 32, of Newport, was arrested in the Festival Field parking lot at 9:45 p.m. He was charged with Violating a no contact order. He also was wanted on a Superior Court warrant. Police said they went to Festival Field because someone called 911 and hung up.

Dec. 8

Mercedes V. Patience, 35, of Newport, was arrested outside a Sunset Boulevard house at 4:05 a.m. She was charged with Domestic Simple Assault and Battery, Domestic Disorderly Conduct; and Resisting arrest. The victim told police an argument had started over the children.
