Newport St. Patrick's Day Parade Will Close A Few Streets: Police
The parade starts at 11 Saturday morning at City Hall and ends at St. Augustin's Church. It's expected to last about two hours.

NEWPORT, RI—Newport's St. Patrick's Day Parade kicks off at 11 Saturday morning from the steps of City Hall. The route continues down Broadway to Washington Square, to Thames Street, then along America's Cup Avenue to Thames Street southbound all the way to Carroll Avenue. It ends at St. Augustin's Church.

Westbound on Memorial Boulevard, right onto Bellevue Avenue (northbound), left on Church Street and right into the Waterfront Parking lot (situated between Church and Mary streets.)
Farewell Street South to America’s Cup Avenue, and right into the Gateway parking garage.

No Parking From 5 a.m. to 3 p.m.
No parking's allowed along the parade route or along these streets:
Broadway from Cranston Street /Equality Park West to Washington Square
Equality Park Place and Equality Park West
Dr. Marcus F. Wheatland Boulevard (West side)
Bull Street at Spring Street
Spring Street At Bull Street
Washington Square. from Broadway to Thames Street
Thames Street from America’s Cup Avenue to Morton Avenue
Carroll Avenue from Morton to Harrison avenues
Both sides of America’s Cup Avenue at the Gateway Center
Narragansett Avenue between Spring Street and Bellevue Avenue.
Traffic Detours
Southbound Broadway diverted onto Marcus Wheatland Boulevard southbound at Equality Park.
Spring Street northbound diverted away from Broadway and up Bull Street to Kay Street.
Westbound Memorial Boulevard West diverted northbound on Thames Street at the Post Office.
Northbound Thames Street diverted away from America’s Cup up Mill Street to Spring Street.
Besides towing cars and directing traffic, the police will be enforcing the laws about public drinking (not allowed); underage drinking (also not allowed); disorderly conduct and noise violations.
