newportFILM Screening Tuesday Digs in to Inner City Urban Gardens
"Can You Dig This" is executive produced by John Legend and follows in the footsteps of four unlikely gardeners in inner city Los Angeles.
Did you know there’s a major urban gardening movement underway in South Los Angeles?
People are transforming their neighborhoods in the inner city one small plot at a time, turning pockets of concrete, overgrown vacant lots and abandoned buildings into havens of flowers, fruits and vegetables.
The effort has transformed more than just land. Lives have changed along the way and a film produced by John Legend, “Can You Dig It,” offers a look at how four unlikely gardeners flourish when they put their hands in the soil.
