Miss Blanche Norma Stoddard, 91, of Newport died Thursday, October 22, 2015 at West View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of West Warwick.

Miss Blanche Norma Stoddard, 91, of Newport died Thursday, October 22, 2015 at West View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of West Warwick.
She was born September 30, 1924 in Providence, RI, daughter of the late Vernon and Blanche (Fox) Stoddard.
Miss Stoddard worked for 37 years as a service order writer for New England Telephone, retiring in 1985. She was a member of Newport Unit #7, American Legion Auxiliary, serving as President for 3 years and secretary for more than 15 years. She also served as secretary for several years for the Newport Life Member Club of the Telephone Pioneers of America, and The Georgians of St. George’s Church. She was assistant treasurer of St. George’s for 3 years, and served on the Vestry.

She is survived by her niece Susan Hall and her husband Hugh of Saunderstown, grandnephews Michael Hall, David Hall and his wife Lynn and her grandniece Alison Stone and her husband John. She also leaves her great grandnephews and great grandniece Joseph Hall, Lela Berry and John Stone.
She was the sister of the late Vernon Stoddard.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, October 28, 2015 from 4:00 – 6:00PM in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at 10:00AM in St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 324 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI, burial will follow in St. Mary’s Churchyard, Portsmouth.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her name made to St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 324 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI 02871.
