NEWPORT, RI — November has arrived, and with it comes the end of paid parking in Newport for the season. Until next spring, parking is free in the City by the Sea.

Parking fees don't apply from Nov. 1 through April 30.

During the parking season — May 1 through Oct. 31 — paid parking applies from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., including weekends and holidays. The Residential Parking Program is also in effect during that time. In designated areas, parking is only allowed for vehicles with a residential permit, visitor pass or a temporary residential permit. Residents cannot park for free at metered spots, even with a sticker.
