Police Have Identified Suspect: Six Cats Left On Shipyard Dock
The Potter League says six cats were abandoned on the dock at Newport Shipyard, according to a Good Samaritan who turned in five of them.
MIDDLETOWN, RI — The Potter League for Animals says six cats were abandoned on the dock at Newport Shipyard, according to a Good Samaritan who turned in five of them on Dec. 22. The sixth cat escaped and has not been found. The cats were left in lobster crates. Anyone with information is asked to call the Rhode Island Society For the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals at 401-438-8150, ext. 6. Police are also investigating.
The Potter League said Friday that Newport police have identified a suspect in the case.
