Traffic Alert: Broadway Street Fair

Broadway is closed between Gould and Farewell, and there's no parking on the entire west side of Dr. Marcus Wheatland Boulevard and more.

NEWPORT, RI — Much of Broadway will be closed to traffic on Saturday, Oct. 7, during the Second Annual Broadway Street Fair, police said. No cars are allowed between Gould and Farewell streets beginning at 8:30 a.m. The street will re-open around 7 p.m. Meanwhile, traffic between Gould and Marlborough streets will be directed to Dr. Marcus Wheatland Boulevard. Newport police officers will be on duty to direct traffic.

There's also no parking between Gould and Marlborough streets on Broadway. But the parking ban starts at 7 a.m. and extends beyond Broadway. Cars also cannot park on the entire west side of Dr. Marcus Wheatland Boulevard and on both sides of Equality Park West.
