NEWPORT, RI—A 42-year-old Bristol woman was charged with domestic simple assault on Tuesday for allegedly assaulting a woman in a Carey Street residence.Police said Jennifer A. Schuster, of 37 Sherman Ave., Bristol, allegedly assaulted the woman during an argument.According to a police report, the victim told police that Schuster stuck a thumb into her eye and bit her left arm during the fight.Police said the bite wound was severe but the victim denied medical treatment.Schuster was released on $1,000 personal recognizance after her initial appearance in Second Division District Court and is due to return on Feb. 3.
