The Groundhog was Right!

Awesome Early Spring in RI

Crocuses in my yard.
Crocuses in my yard.

Puxatawny Phil announced an early spring for the Northeast, and boy was he right! March came in like a lamb, not a lion, and the warmer than average temps were so welcome. The winter seemed to go by very fast, and suddenly, spring begins today, at 11:06pm! This year boasts an earlier-than-usual Easter too; on March 31st, less than two weeks away.

The pic in this article shows the crocuses that I planted years ago, but the other day, I bought hyacinths and tulips, and picked up some free daffodils from someone in my local 'Buy Nothing' Facebook group. For a yard, I only have a small amount of frontage, and I plan to put down sod in an area where there's no grass, and this is the first year that I've been able to do all of this, because the water spigots outside this house don't work! So what did I do this time? I bought an adapter for the kitchen sink that I can attach a hose to, lol! I went online and bought a 25ft expandable hose that triples in length once the water is turned on, and I tried it the other day...guess what? It worked perfectly!

For the first time in fifteen years, I can water plants like a normal person!

Once I saw that it works, I bought the flowers. Then I bought a 'Welcome Spring' flag that stands up in the yard. Then I spotted the sign advertising sod at Lowe's...and it's like a monster has been created! My youngest brother, Dave, is going to help me do the sod and stuff, and I can't wait! Finally, I can make the front of this house look good!

Spring is here: bring it on!!
