The Town Is asking North Providence residents, business owners, and stakeholders, to share ideas for how the Town should prioritize the use of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds.

Please read the general description of ARPA which is provided below and then click on the link at the end of the page to take the online survey. Your answers will be used to help prioritize ARPA spending options. The survey will be available through March 1, 2022.

What is the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA)?

The American Rescue Plan Act was signed in to law in March 2021. ARPA established the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund (CSLFRF) which provides significant economic resources to states, counties, municipalities, and other governmental units across the country. These funds are to be used by state and local governments to address the devastating public health and economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The broad goals of ARPA are to 1) address negative public health and economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, 2) maintain vital public services, even amid declines in revenue resulting from the crisis, and 3) confront any inequities exacerbated by the pandemic.

The U.S. Department of Treasury has issued guidelines on how ARPA funds can, and cannot, be spent. These guidelines can be found in the links below.
