A long time ago, we used to post a "Five Things you Need to Know Today" every day that lists five topics that matter to Portsmouth residents. 

After many months posting this every day, we stopped. Well, it's now back! 

Here's 5 things you need to know for Tuesday, July 23: 

  1. Town Historian Jim Garman will give an "Island Park" historical lecture tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the Portsmouth Free Public Library as part of the town's 375th anniversary. 
  2. Substance Abuse Subcommittee Meeting happens tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the Portsmouth High School library. 
  3. Expect rain and thunderstorms before 10 a.m. today. Grab an umbrella before you leave the house! 
  4. Raytheon is hiring! Check out some of the jobs posted on our Jobs page here. 
  5. The Portsmouth Senior Center is currently taking table reservations for its August Giant Yard Sale! To rent a table, call 401-683-4106.
