Budget Season for Portsmouth Begins Today

While town officials really work on the town's proposed budget most of the year, the season could be said to unofficially begin today.

Two workshops will be held today and Tuesday, each beginning at 7 p.m. at Town Hall. These meetings are open to the public. Residents are encouraged to attend.

The workshops will include discussion on department budgets for the 2013-2014 fiscal year.

The proposed budget for fiscal year 2013-2014 includes a long-term road plan for the town and funding for full-day kindergarten. The proposed budget includes a two percent increase in spending since the last fiscal year.
