Exclusive: Family, Friends Pray For Missing Teen's Return

Patch was able to speak with a friend of Kathryn Botelho, the 13-year-old Portsmouth girl who was reported missing Wednesday.

The friend, who asked to only go by Laurel, said family and friends are inside the Ferry Landing Circle home praying for Kathryn's safe return. She appeared obviously shaken by her friend's disappearance.

"We're not eating much," Laurel said.

She refused to speak about the man who allegedly left with Kathryn, but urged anyone with info to call 911.

"Get the posts, Tweets out there," she said.

Outside the typically quiet, private residential neighborhood stood a parade of news vans and police cars.

Neighbors walked dogs, rode bikes and jogged around the reporters, ducking their heads in polite refusal to questioning.

The investigation into Kathryn's disappearance will continue into the night. Anyone with information is urged to call 911 or Portsmouth police at 683-0300.
