Jury Finds Man Guilty of 2013 Murder on RIPTA Bus in Portsmouth
A Newport County Superior Court jury concluded that Christopher James is guilty of first-degree murder.

PORTSMOUTH, RI—Guilty.
That was the verdict after several hours of deliberations by a jury in Newport County Superior Court on Friday, ending the trail of Chrstopher James, accused of murdering his estranged wife, Terry Chiodo, on a RIPTA bus in 2013.
James, whose lawyers argued that he suffered from mental problems, will now be sentenced in four weeks.

The victim, Terry Chiodo, 46, was stabbed in the chest on the bus as it traveled in Portsmouth. James had boarded the bus to meet her and confront her, prosecutors told the jury.
