Sakonnet Tolls, Dog Park Top Council Agenda

The Portsmouth Town Council will discuss the Sakonnet River Bridge tolls and the creation of a dog park in Portsmouth at this week's meeting.

On Tuesday night, the General Assembly voted to impose a 10-cent toll on the Sakonnet River Bridge. The town of Portsmouth previously filed a lawsuit against several defendants, including the Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority.

The council will discuss any legal updates to this lawsuit and future plans in regards to pending tolls.

The council will also appoint nine members to a committee formed to establish a dog park in town.

The council meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at Portsmouth Town Hall.
