Breeze Airways Postpones Providence To LAX Flight Route, 2 Others

Direct flights from Providence to Los Angeles won't begin this summer, the airline tells Patch. Ohio and Georgia routes are also postponed.

WARWICK, RI — Direct flights from T.F. Green Airport to Los Angeles won't begin this summer, Breeze Airways tells Patch.

Spokesperson Gareth Edmondson-Jones confirmed said three seasonal routes set to begin this summer have been postponed, including a hyped direct flight to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

Flight routes to Savannah, Georgia and Columbus, Ohio, have also been postponed.

"These decisions were difficult to make and certainly not taken lightly," Edmondson-Jones said.

"Like most airlines and airports around the country, we are experiencing issues with crew availability and supply chain constraints."

The LAX route was set to begin Wednesday and run until Sept. 3, but is now scheduled to debut on Feb. 1, 2023. Savannah flights were scheduled to begin on July 1, but will now start on Feb. 3, 2023. Columbus flights will begin next summer.

Breeze continues to offer flights out of Providence, with routes to Charleston, Pittsburgh and Norfolk. The company still plans to add two additional routes this summer, with Richmond starting on June 30, and Jacksonville starting on July 1.
